I was surfing the net, looking for more mouthwatering offerings to tempt you with on the sweets gourmet page at my site and I saw a notice for Sweetest Day.
I had never heard of it before so I looked it up.
Here is what Wikipedia says about the Sweetest Day:
Sweetest Day is a holiday celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region, and parts of the Northeast United States, on the third Saturday in October. It is described by Retail Confectioners International as an “occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed.” You can read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweetest_Day
It did make me think of U2 song “Sweetest Thing” (see it here ) Of course Bono does way more than sweets…
I do think it is important to remember everyone no matter what day it is and certainly not just to say sorry. So why not give some “sweets to your sweet” today! Now that’s an oldie but goodie, the Drifters if I can recall my [er Mom’s records]… Somebody stop me!
