Finding A Birthday Gift For Someone Who Hates Their Birthday
For those of you who haven’t experienced this, congrats. For those who are familiar with this, I am one of those who hates my birthday.
Most people who hate their birthday have had bad experiences when they were young (I’m waving my hand).
It’s very difficult to feel joyous on your birth date when it dredges up bad memories.
The dilemma of wanting to celebrate someone’s birthday when you know they would just as soon forget the whole thing is… You’re ‘damned if you do, damned if don’t’. If you do nothing ‘they’ may be upset. If you do something overtly celebratory, ‘they’ for sure are going to be upset.
I am talking about this tonight because tomorrow is my birthday. Yes, I hate my birthday. As someone who hates my birthday let me give you a few gift giving tips.
What not do to:
* Don’t make a big production out of the birthday, even if you feel it may hurt their feelings if you don’t.
* Don’t do a dinner in a restaurant and have the staff bring a cake with candles.
What you can do:
* Wish ‘them’ a Happy Birthday, gently, and mean it.
* Give them a day of calm. No matter what is going on just don’t talk about it, let them feel good about the day.
If you want to try and do something that may eliminate old birthday memories I have a suggestion.
How about a life experience – like here
You’ll be giving them a positive birthday memory, a new life experience memory, that may even break the birthday bummer cycle for them!

A Gift To Thrill And Makes Them Laugh
I was thinking the other day about when I was young and my Mum and Dad use to take me to parties with them because they couldn’t find a baby sitter.
It really wasn’t much fun for me being dragged along, but I have to tell you I sure saw a lot, and learned a lot, about what fun gifts are all about.

Give Her A Stunning New Outfit For This Wedding Season
This is the height of the wedding season and do you know what that means? Well yes it means so many brides and grooms are working hard to prepare for the big day. But besides that, there are many more people that are going to attend these weddings that are looking for the right outfit to wear.
Well let’s clarify a bit.

Glow In The Dark Driver Ejecting Bumpercrafts
These are the phosphorescent, remote controlled bumpercrafts that pit two players in a duel to literally unseat an opponent driver.

Gifts That Make Woman Feel And Look Wonderful In Warmer Weather
When warmer weather arrives it seems that men are happy to throw off their jackets, sweaters and pants and slip on tees and shorts.
Not a care in the world.
Some women, not so much.
As a woman I know that when the hot weather arrives many of us cringe. Women are much more concerned with their body image, when it comes to warmer weather, than men.
What women hide under layers or sweaters and jackets in the colder temperatures they hide anymore. She can’t wear that type of clothing as the temperatures rise to hide her body image concerns.
Whether they feel they are overweight, or too thin, the warmer weather threatens their sense of a positive body image.
I have some great gift ideas for her as the warm weather flows in.
But first I would like to tell you a story.
Since I can remember I have had a medical condition that limits my ability to eat and retain calories. It’s not something I like to talk about. I am telling you this now because it has had a huge effect of my body image.
As a teen the girls around me were developing curves. They were attractive, and attracting boys. I was not developing the curves. My waist was small, my hips were small, everything was small. I wanted to hide what I looked liked so I tended to layer clothing to make me look bigger.
I was lucky enough to become friends with a couple of girls who had the opposite problem as me. They had curves, lots of curves. Big hips, big everything. But they felt almost the same as I did. They wanted to hide too. Weight, or lack of it, has a huge effect on all women’s body image.
It was during the adolescence that I learned body image can have such a huge effect on everything in a woman’s life, especially self esteem.
When I started working in the fashion industry, eventually working as a manager in a major fashion chain, I took all the knowledge from that time to helping woman find the clothing that would work for them and make them feel good, no matter what their size. I also worked with women to make the experience fun. It was a mini-makeover experience for many of them. For example, just because you are not petite doesn’t mean you can’t wear bright colors. So moving them away from the drab and into the fab gave them a huge boost in confidence.
So when it comes to looking for a present for the special woman in your life keep in mind that no matter what she may feel about her body image you can give her the gift of acceptance & love. It tells her that you love her just the way she is. How wonderful is that!
