I was watching a video about eastern medicine and a doctor was talking about how when he was young he played the guitar, but as he got older and busy, he stopped playing. After reading a textbook he stated that playing music is therapeutic, even listening to music or singing helps. He said music can have extraordinary healing powers. Music even changes how the brain works. It lowers stress and anxiety levels.
My husband and I are teaching ourselves the guitar. We spend time daily practicing before dinner. Later in the evening we go to YouTube and find songs we love and sing along with them. Who knows if we are great singers but we sure enjoy it.
