I was working on the site today and I noticed that a lot of content I was updating referred to ‘Christmas in July’. The phrase it not new to me, but I didn’t know if there was an actually meaning to it, other than sales copy, so I decided to see if it meant more than just summer sales events.
Here is what I found. Wikipedia says:
“In the southern hemisphere, winter falls in July. Therefore in countries such as Australia and, New Zealand in order to have Christmas with a ‘winter’ feel “Christmas in July” events are undertaken.”
Who knew – being from the northern hemisphere (Canada), I just thought it was a great time to check out the sales, and it is.
Then I thought about all of the monthly clubs on the site that are like Christmas every month of the year for those that receive these 12 month presents, though you don’t have to pick the 12 month option. I love the idea of Christmas in July. Us northern hemisphere folks should have a ‘barbie celebration’ in December!! That would be fun.
