At the beginning of July I told you I was starting a page for “unique traditional anniversary gifts”, not just traditional ones. I emphasize the unique as that has not been as easy as I thought it might be.
Some were ‘fairly easy’ (though I use the term ‘fairly’ loosely) to find unique gifts for, but others, well not so much.
Here are some examples of what I mean…
1st Year Anniversary Gift – Paper – well if you just want to give a fancy piece of paper that would be easy. This one was my first hurdle. Little did I know it actually would be my easiest.
13th Year Anniversary Gift – Lace – this was easy for women but not so easy for men. A few centuries ago, no problem, but now? What’s the matter guys, afraid of a little lace? Back in the romantic era even tough guys wore lace.
14th Year Anniversary Gift – Ivory – well of course ivory is protected so I really had to think outside of the box on this one.
15th Year Anniversary Gift – Crystal – this was easy for couples gift and women but not so easy finding a crystal gift for men. Get men a nice crystal bowl and they’ll have it full of dry roasted peanuts in no time…
35th Year Anniversary Gift – Coral – this was easy for women, but again not so easy for men, other than a belt buckled with coral and a coral colored shirt.
Do you notice a trend? I sure did. It seems that if you want to find the every day kind-of anniversary gifts it is easy to pick out ones for both men and women, but if you want traditional anniversary gifts – and especially Unique Traditional Anniversary gifts, it is way easier to find them for women than it is for men. A bit strange to me because men like gifts too!
So the page is now up to 35th Year Anniversary Gift. What do you think? http://forsomeonewhohaseverything.com/Anniversary-Gifts.html
