This is the height of the wedding season and do you know what that means? Well yes it means so many brides and grooms are working hard to prepare for the big day. But besides that, there are many more people that are going to attend these weddings that are looking for the right outfit to wear.

Gifts That Make Woman Feel And Look Wonderful In Warmer Weather
When warmer weather arrives it seems that men are happy to throw off their jackets, sweaters and pants and slip on tees and shorts.
Not a care in the world.
Some women, not so much.
As a woman I know that when the hot weather arrives many of us cringe. Women are much more concerned with their body image, when it comes to warmer weather, than men.
What women hide under layers or sweaters and jackets in the colder temperatures they hide anymore. She can’t wear that type of clothing as the temperatures rise to hide her body image concerns.
Whether they feel they are overweight, or too thin, the warmer weather threatens their sense of a positive body image.
I have some great gift ideas for her as the warm weather flows in.
But first I would like to tell you a story.
Since I can remember I have had a medical condition that limits my ability to eat and retain calories. It’s not something I like to talk about. I am telling you this now because it has had a huge effect of my body image.
As a teen the girls around me were developing curves. They were attractive, and attracting boys. I was not developing the curves. My waist was small, my hips were small, everything was small. I wanted to hide what I looked liked so I tended to layer clothing to make me look bigger.
I was lucky enough to become friends with a couple of girls who had the opposite problem as me. They had curves, lots of curves. Big hips, big everything. But they felt almost the same as I did. They wanted to hide too. Weight, or lack of it, has a huge effect on all women’s body image.
It was during the adolescence that I learned body image can have such a huge effect on everything in a woman’s life, especially self esteem.
When I started working in the fashion industry, eventually working as a manager in a major fashion chain, I took all the knowledge from that time to helping woman find the clothing that would work for them and make them feel good, no matter what their size. I also worked with women to make the experience fun. It was a mini-makeover experience for many of them. For example, just because you are not petite doesn’t mean you can’t wear bright colors. So moving them away from the drab and into the fab gave them a huge boost in confidence.
So when it comes to looking for a present for the special woman in your life keep in mind that no matter what she may feel about her body image you can give her the gift of acceptance & love. It tells her that you love her just the way she is. How wonderful is that!

I just love the trend. It so reminds me of my teens, my hippie era, creating clothes that make you feel good no matter what was mainstream. Taking pieces of clothing and working it into a skirt, or jeans, etc. Or using different pieces of cloth and actually making an item.
The trend is back.
These clothes use different patterns, fabrics, textures that are mixed together to create clothing and accessory artwork to wear.

Gifts For Someone Who Has Everything – Are You a DIY Gift Giver?
Don’t you just love when you get ‘homemade’ presents!
Home made creative presents are so wonderful to receive. They become one of my most cherished possessions. You know how much time, and love. goes into making it.
In this digital age, kids just aren’t learning to explore and develop traditional creative skills to the degree we were at their age. They’re going straight from the playpen to the tablet. Although it’s important for them to pick up digital literacy early on, it shouldn’t be at the sacrifice of other important types of creative and tactile development.
Kids are being handed tablet style computers to amuse themselves before they are able to walk instead of being given creative playthings to develop their finger’s dexterity and their brain’s creative centers. Instead of learning crochet or drawing and painting, young people are texting each other or playing computer games.
Creative hobbies, arts and crafts are also great family activities.
Skills from one generation passed on to the next during precious time spent together, creating a continuous trove of treasures. Treasures to touch and remember and pass along again.
I am thrilled to have in my possession the wonderful creatives that my Mum, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother made.
When I visit Craft Fairs and listen to the stories about how this person learned from their Mom who learned from their Mom and so on… I wonder what these Craft Fairs will look like in the future if we don’t make the effort to nurture the tradition of arts and crafts in the young of today.
Get kids to put their phone or tablet away, break out the beads, yarn, stained glass or watercolors and play together, learn together build some beauty and beautiful memories. It will do parents good to get away from the device screens too!
Kids aren’t the only ones guilty of spending too much time in front of screen (present company excepted of course!)

Give A Gift That Celebrates Color & Gives Them Energy
I was watching something the other day that showed children playing. All of a sudden it struck me how colorful their outfits were.
Their tops, shorts, dresses, pants, shoes, all bright and alive colors. Children have a wonderful sense of color. They will put all sorts of colors and patterns together. Wear colorful hats, colorful boas, and given the opportunity, lots of colorful makeup. The rejoice in color.
Like many things that surround us in our everyday lives, we tend to take it for granted but color is a huge part of our life. Think about spring and summer and all that blooms. We feel reborn as the green leaves form, flowers in all shades of the rainbow bloom, everything is alive again. It makes us feel good. Color makes us feel alive too!
So why do we tend to tone down our colors as we get older?
Most of us tend to keep our wardrobe to monotone colors because of work. Women may add a flash of color with jewelry or accessories for work, men may add colorful ties or belts, but unless you work in retail, or an artistic environment, we tend to keep our colors low key.
Don’t be afraid of color.
Color helps when times are hard.
When you are looking for a sympathy or a get well present color should be part of what you want to look for. Color and lift the spirit, even if subconsciously. It can help, even in small ways, to help someone feel better.

The meaning of color varies and can have different meanings is different cultures
- Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner.
- White symbolizes innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color.
- Red is the most emotionally intense color and stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love
- Blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue.
- Green symbolizes nature. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing color.
- Yellow is considered an optimistic color. Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter.
- Purple it the color of royalty, connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic.
- Brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature.
